Siemens and Thales will carry out the maintenance

March 09, 2016 - A maintenance project worth 29.32 million euros for two years.

Siemens and Thales will carry out the maintenance on the traffic control systems of the Valencia AVE and its Albacete branch line for two years.

Adif has awarded the consortium, made up of Siemens Rail Automation and Thales España, the contract for the maintenance of the traffic control facilities and auxiliary systems on the Madrid – Castile La Mancha – Valencian Autonomous Community – Region of Murcia high-speed lines, on the Torrejón de Velasco - Valencia sections and the Albacete – Albacete junction, measuring a total of 444 kilometres. The consortium will provide all of the human and material resources to undertake the preventive and corrective maintenance. The two companies will intervene on different sections of the lines.

For a period of two years, the contract is worth 29.32m Euros and includes the maintenance of signalling systems, such as Intersig electronic interlocking systems, Local Operating Posts (PLOs in the Spanish acronym), FS 3000 jointless line circuits without, wheel sensors and L826 electro-hydraulic points operators for diversions and signals. Other systems that are covered by the maintenance contract include train protection systems (ERTMS and ASFA), energy, operational and security supervision, auxiliary monitoring and supervisory systems, buildings and technical signalling posts, and interfaces with other sub-systems.

Thales España and Siemens Rail Automation boast a wealth of national and international experience in the installation and maintenance of railway security systems for high-speed and metropolitan lines. Both companies have worked together to undertake projects on different High-Speed lines in Spain.
